Today marks the start of a new era for 211 (Newbury) Squadron and opens a new chapter in the Squadron’s history – the first parade night in Newbury’s Cadet Forces Centre.
After a busy weekend for cadets & staff alike, the Squadron has moved from temporary accommodation, kindly donated by New Greenham Park, to it’s revamped joint building on St Michaels Road.
The combined facility provides training facilities for Newbury’s Army Cadet Force detachment and for 211 Squadron; including a number of training rooms, offices, stores & a drill hall – a significant improvement on the 40 year old “Spooner hut” which the cadets previously used and was demolished in February this year.
The return to St Michaels Road has happened just at the right time, with the investiture of the new Squadron Chaplain, Rev David Stone, an intake of new recruits, and the Commanding Officers Parade all just around the corner!
If you are interested in joining 211 (Newbury) Squadron there is an intake on 2nd October 2006 at the new Cadet Forces Centre, St Michaels Road, Newbury starting at 1930. Please contact us in advance to reserve your place!
