The attached document is a briefing sheet for Bisley.
The squadron is always in need of funding. Historically this has be raised by a number of means, Butt marking at Bisley is just one of them. Bisley is the home of the National Rifle Association in the UK, and is considered one of the finest ranges in the country.
It provides a number of different shooting disciplines over a variety of areas. Target shooting takes place from 100 yds, right up to 1500yds.
The squadron provides butt marking for a number of rifle associations – primarily the Historic Arms group who fire a number of vintage rifles over varying distances – normally on the Century range. Butt marking is the process of marking targets on the range.
The squadron butt marks at Bisley several times a year. This is a VERY important event for the squadron as it provides our primary source of funding throughout the year - as such we need as many cadets to turn out as possible.
